Please join volunteers from Jefferson County’s Elks Run Watershed in this community tree planting event!
Elks Run Watershed Group volunteers, in coordination with the WV Project CommuniTree and the WV Department of Highways, will be planting 24 trees along both sides of the Rt. 9 bicycle path across from the entrance to Shenandoah Junction Road and directly across from Concert Technologies, formerly the Bardane Community Center, on October 19.
WV Project CommuniTree promotes tree planting and education on public land through volunteerism in the Potomac Headwaters of West Virginia. CommuniTree is a program of the The Cacapon Institute, the WV Conservation Agency, and the WV Division of Forestry, that is engaged in on-the-ground actions throughout the Potomac headwaters.
When: October 19, 2013 (rain or shine)
Where: Rt. 9 bicycle path at Shenandoah Junction Road, adjacent to T. A. Lowery Elementary School and directly across from Concert Technologies, formerly the Bardane Community Center.
Time: 9 am – 12 pm

Dress: Volunteers should dress for the weather: wear clothes that can get dirty, and wear closed-toe shoes or boots and bring a pair of your favorite work gloves. Tools provided.
