Community Tree and Rain Garden Planting
On May 17th, volunteers, staff, and community partners came together for a day of tree and rain garden planting at Sam Michael’s Park in Jefferson County. This effort was part of 319 Clean Water act funding, an ongoing initiative to enhance local watershed health and reduce nonpoint source pollution.
The planting project included two main components: the restoration of an existing rain garden and the installation of a tree and shrub planting along a section of the park’s cross-country trail.
