WaterFaire at Panhandle Earth Day
Saturday, April 21 at 10 am – 7 pm
Sam Michaels Park
1516 Job Corps Rd, Harpers Ferry, West Virginia 25442
Do you drink water? Cook with it, and wash with it? Give it to your pet? Want to have some fun learning your watershed address and how to keep water safe?
Come on out to Sam Michaels Park for the annual Panhandle Earth Day Celebration and check out the fun stuff for people of all ages at the WaterFaire tents.
There will be a tree planting along Elks Run with the Cacapon Institute, beginning at 10am. At the tents will be displays and information about Elks Run; an Elks Run Scavenger Hunt, which invites everyone to explore Elks Run and Sam Michaels Park — and enter a prize drawing; demonstrations of Water Reporter, a phone app, helps you be a photo documentarian of Elks Run.
You can learn how to save thousands of dollars on septic repair, too! And there’s the WaterQuest hunt with local merchants who become exchange sites for providing water facts about the Potomac and Shenandoah rivers.
Elks Run is a tiny stream with a big job. It beautifies neighborhoods and serves as the drinking water for Harpers Ferry. Have fun. Safe water starts with you!
